Project Description: Slipforming & Cone Bottoms of Cement Silos
Summary of Project:
McC Inc. was subcontracted to slipform silos for a New Cement Manufacturing Facility. We slipformed (4) concrete silos; (1) 15’ diameter x 90’ tall stacker tube, (1) 81’ diameter x 98’ tall emergency silo, (1) 52.5’ diameter x 165’ tall cement storage silo and (1) 52.5’ diameter x 160’ tall blending silo. We also poured a 10’ thick elevated concrete floor in the cement silo with an inverted 60 degree x 33’-6 tall cone poured monolithically. McC also poured an 8’ thick elevated concrete floor in the blending silo with an inverted 60 degree x 33’-6 tall cone poured monolithically. We revised original plans from jump form to slipform design.
